The Paddock
About The Paddock
The Paddock is a spacious detached house, on the edge of the village of Flushing, with extensive elevated views over its gardens to the Penryn river and Fal estuary beyond.
Parking for several cars is available on the driveway, from here a raised walkway leads to the front door at first floor level.
On arrival you will be immediately drawn into the kitchen, dining and living room to take in the views! Windows on three sides and sliding doors opening onto two separate balconies mean you can really bring the outside in. These patios have a table and chairs for outside dining and a rattan sofa for relaxing.
In the living area there is a modern multi-fuel stove with large comfortable sofa and snuggle chair. The dining table is perfect to gather round friends and family and to enjoy some of the glorious local produce.
The well equipped kitchen is well equipped with an American style fridge freezer, double ovens, and dishwasher.
The master bedroom, also on the first floor, has a Super King bed, ensuite bathroom and sliding doors opening onto the large balcony, enjoying wonderful river views.
There is a second double bedroom on this level with twin single beds, also with water views, with shower room across the entrance hall.
On the ground floor there is a hallway with snug/sitting area which opens onto a large terrace which wraps around the front of the house. Here children can have their own sitting area with sofa and armchair and entertain themselves on wet weather days watching the TV or playing games on the console.
There are two further double bedrooms on this floor. One bedroom has a king size bed while the other can be made up as twin singles or a Super King bed. These bedrooms share a modern family bathroom with WC, basin and a shower over the bath.
Also on this floor is a useful utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer which leads into a games room complete with table tennis table.
The gardens have been designed and landscaped to take advantage of the property’s elevated position, offering far-reaching views and plenty of space for outdoor entertaining. Within the gardens there are a variety of flower borders, lawn and trees including a beautiful magnolia.
The pretty waterside village of Flushing was once the home of admirals and packet ship commanders, and the hub of the international mail service. The village has an active community and retains its charm with many 17th and 18th century houses lining narrow winding streets, leading down to the water. It also enjoys a sunny south-westerly aspect and is reputed to have one of the mildest climates in Britain.
Local facilities in the village include a village store, two excellent pubs, and a quayside restaurant.
A regular passenger ferry can take you across the water and over to the harbour town of Falmouth, where an array of boutique shops and restaurants await. Guests can explore several art galleries or take time to expand their knowledge of its history at the famous Maritime Museum. It’s easy to explore more of Cornwall from Falmouth, with its excellent transport links to Cornwall’s capital city, Truro via bus, train, ferry or car.
Both dogs and walkers will love the coastal walk around the headland to Mylor Yacht Harbour where you will find a restaurant and cafe – perfect for breakfast or lunch. Water lovers can hire boats or SUPs from here and explore the creeks of the or why not grab an ice cream and just watch the boats!
A fantastic Cornish holiday is definitely on the cards for guests staying at The Paddock. Oozing character and spacious rooms, its ideal for large families or groups of friends to get away and escape the pace of everyday life!
