Find events in Falmouth and the surrounding area in our annual events guide. With a rich maritime heritage and the third largest natural harbour in the world, Falmouth plays host to many events. Festivals throughout the year, both on and off the water. We have everything from the Falmouth Week yachting regatta and the Sea Shanty Festival to historic events at Pendennis Castle. Falmouth has a great community spirit and town events like the spring festivals are typical occasions.
Christmas is a great time to visit Falmouth with numerous exciting events taking place over the entire festive period from Christmas to New Year. We have Nadelik, a special Cornish Christmas event held at the historic Pendennis Castle. In addition, we have the Santa Fun Run, the Christmas Carol Concert and Falmouth Live Nativity.
Winter is also a good time to visit Falmouth as we have a mild sub tropical climate. So you can still enjoy a stroll along the sea front or a longer walk on the coast path. It is a good time to see Falmouth when it is quiet and peaceful.
Sadly the effects of Covid this past year or more have had a major impact on some of the popular events the town stages. But there is still plenty going on, so keep an eye out for what events there are in 2021. Details of which will be available on this page as soon as all of the relevant dates have been confirmed. Falmouth Spring Festival held from celebrates Falmouth's beautiful open and green spaces. The town is decked out in yellow and there are guided walks and a Spring Flower Show.VISIT WEBSITE
Spring Flower Show -- CANCELLED
One of Falmouth's great traditional shows since 1910 the Show usually takes place the last week-end in March and is the first in a line of successive flower shows which take place around Cornwall to show case the best of Cornwall spring flowers. Many growers exhibit here.
The show is staged at the Princes Pavilion, Falmouth.
Fal River Festival -- CANCELLED
Fal River Festival is a fantastic ten day festival held in May 2020 which encompasses over 150 events varying from music and drama, the arts and heritage to gig racing and walking.
Sea Shanty Festival

Falmouth’s International Sea Shanty Festival was founded in 2003 with a mission is to keep the history of the sea alive; the days of sail by performing sea shanties, songs of the sea and Cornish songs. Spread across from Friday until Sunday, featuring pop-up bars and music stages throughout Falmouth town, bringing shanty groups from across the UK, Brittany, Holland, Spain, Canada and Ireland together in a celebration of all things nautical.
