Blue Water Cottage
About Blue Water Cottage
Perfectly situated on the waterfront in Flushing village, Blue Water Cottage is a very special waterside home right on the quay with views across the water to Falmouth.
Historically a bethel or meeting room for sailors, the property has been fully refurbished to luxury standards and has everything you could possibly wish for to make your holiday unforgettable.
This 3-storey property is really very special. From the ground floor you are greeted by a cosy seating area with 24″ TV, sofa and desk overlooking the quay – perfect for those that may need to work during their stay or just to surf the internet. This room has a very comfortable 5ft futon ( sofa bed) offering flexibility for sleeping.
On this floor are two bedrooms. Facing the quay is a room with bunk beds (one 4ft and one 3ft) while at the rear is a king-sized bedroom. The family bathroom has a deep, freestanding bath and separate shower.
The hallway stairs side features a wonderful handmade stained glass panel depicting Cornwall. This leads you to the first floor where you will find yourself drawn to the glass fronted balcony and views of the activity on the river. West-facing, this is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sun set.
The sitting room provides a relaxing place to enjoy the views from the inside of the property. The room has a sofa and chairs, a smart 42″ TV which artfully rises out of the window sill (and similarly disappears when not in use) and a very efficient, cosy wood-burning stove for those colder winter stays.
All the comforts you would expect are in the kitchen – built in appliances including dishwasher, microwave and a fan-assisted oven. An oak table seats six people.
The loft-style master bedroom is a superb suite with a sumptuous Super-King bed this is zip linked and can be configured as two full size single beds if required. The en-suite shower room has luxury fittings including a shower. A window seat adds to the luxury of this room – the river views from up here are wonderful!
Finishing touches to all bedrooms include luxury towels and bed linen.
A well behaved dog is welcome at Blue Water Cottage.
A holiday in this property will be both memorable and relaxing just watching the boats go by or strolling to the local beach. For the more adventurous plenty of sailing is possible in the estuary plus coastal walks in all directions from the cottage.
The Village has two pubs – The Royal Standard and Harbour House, and a bistro called The Waterside on the quay. There is also a well-stocked village shop. From the quay, guests can catch the regular ferry across to Falmouth which has several boat trips plus a great selection of independent shops, restaurants and bars all within walking distance. A water taxi is available in season for an evening out in Falmouth with a romantic journey afterwards straight back to your door.
A small museum called The Watermans Rest is attached to the property and managed by villagers. It is open during the day and sometimes used as quiet place to sit. Blue Water Cottage guests have use of an allocated parking space on the quay.
