The Watch House
About The Watch House
You’ll find it hard to leave The Watch House, as this beautifully renovated and located property offers the ultimate holiday experience. Located right in the heart of Falmouth Harbour, you’d be hard pressed to find a better spot from which to experience life on the Cornish coast. Its central location makes it a great base from which to get out and explore everything the surrounding area has to offer, although with stunning features and views itself, it’s also the perfect property in which to enjoy a lazy and relaxing holiday without a lot on the agenda.
Without a doubt the standout feature of The Watch House is the impressive lounge area, attached to the open plan kitchen and diner. This room features floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides to provide you with breath-taking 180° views across the harbour. Sit on one of the two comfortable sofas or armchairs and watch as the boats drift back and forth, or gaze across the bay towards St Mawes. Watching the sunlight sparkle on the water, or the gulls circling overhead, is the perfect way to slow down after a hard few weeks or months of work or family life.
The breakfast bar is also well-positioned behind this open plan space to allow you to enjoy your meals whilst making the most of the view. The stunning contemporary kitchen is spaciously laid out and contains all the mod cons you need to make preparing your own meal a breeze, including a double oven with electric hob, a full height fridge freezer, and a dishwasher.
The Watch House boasts an upside-down layout to give you the full benefit of the incredible views afforded by this location, so on the ground floor you’ll find a handy utility room and storage area, a family bathroom complete with bath with shower over, hand basin, and WC, and twin single beds which can be combined to form a super king-size double bed.
There are two further bedrooms on the first floor. The master bedroom features a super king-size double bed, outstanding views across the water, and a built-in wardrobe. The room also boasts an en-suite shower room, with WC, basin, large walk-in shower, and heated towel rail. The second bedroom on this floor enjoys much of the luxuries of the first, including the harbour views and the en-suite shower room. It comes with twin single beds, which can be configured as a king-size double bed if required and also has a built-in wardrobe. Window seats allow lucky guests to take a moment to enjoy the views before venturing out!
The top floor loft space provides a great second living area, again with fantastic views as well as two high quality oversized-single sofa beds that allow this to serve as another bedroom. There is also a balcony complete with outside dining table for a truly memorable meal. Here you will also find a further shower room with basin and WC
The town of Falmouth boasts a packed itinerary for eager visitors looking to sample the Cornish lifestyle. In the town centre you’ll find a range of shops, from quirky independent boutiques to your favourite high street chains and everything in between. Bakeries, pubs, cafes and upmarket restaurants provide a packed and varied menu for you to sample. Whether you need to grab a quick lunch while out and about, or relax and enjoy a leisurely dinner, Falmouth has you covered.
And should you get bored of the town’s offerings, the rest of Cornwall is easily accessible. Falmouth enjoys good bus connections, and the train station has regular connections to Truro, capital city of Cornwall. For those of you who prefer the water, why not catch the ferry to St Mawes from the quay outside the door! Other boats also run up the river to Truro, or across to Flushing and the Helford. Or, with space for a medium-sized car underneath the property and nearby allocated parking spaces for a further two vehicles, you can bring your own transport and have the freedom to explore exactly where and when the mood takes you.
