Falmouth Christmas Lights Switch on 2018
There is something truly magical about the Christmas lights switch on in Falmouth. The big switch on takes place on one of the oldest areas of the town, ‘The Moor’, when combined with the lantern parade, carol singing by local children and market stalls, it makes for a very traditional and cosy start to the festive season.
Many local businesses remain open until 8 or 9pm, and with the addition of an open top double decker Christmas bus to this years celebrations, there will be much more to see and do.
The bus will be decorated in festive attire and will be offering activities to all including, storytelling sessions, craft workshops, live theatre and choirs. The bus will be open at various locations throughout the town between 5pm & 8pm on all late night shopping nights, and Saturdays in the run up to Christmas between 12pm & 3pm.

The Harmony Choir on Christmas Eve
It’s not officially Christmas in Falmouth until the traditional, ‘Harmony Choir’, has sung. For over 100 years choirs from across Cornwall combine to bring you the largest range of voices imaginable, if you’ve never heard them you are in for a treat! The choir will gather outside the, ‘Watersports Centre’, on Grove place around 9.30 am on the 24th, and slowly move through the main street of the town, stopping at various locations including, the top of Custom House Quay and, ‘King Charles the Martyr’ Church. Finally, the harmonies will end at The Moor at around 1 pm. Please be aware the town becomes very packed during this time, and when the choir stops so do the majority of pedestrians!
